Hey there! Welcome to Ballpointe!

Vinci & Arty isn't as much a strip about a gay couple as it is a strip about a couple, who just happen to be gay. The lifestyle takes a backseat in the story, and the majority of the focus is on the personalities of its title characters, their friends and family and the relationships between them.

In short, it's just day to day life and the laughs that go with it.

I consider the strip to have a mild PG rating, because I understand that not everyone agrees with same-sex relationships and do want to mention that both the main "lovebirds" are male, but there is no sex in the strip at all, and the majority of the content is very tame. Honestly, most of the PG rating you can thank Arty for.. he's got a bit of a sailor's mouth!

Why am I doing the strip? For fun, and to tell a story. That, and some of the silly things that happen to Vinci & Arty have actually happened to my husband and I, so it's a good excuse to poke fun at ourselves. Life's just more fun when you can laugh at it!

And Heck, While I'm At It - 'Bout The 'Toonist

Me, I'm just a California dreamin' girl who loves smiles and sunshine, and collecting monkey stuff. I have been drawing as a hobbyist since I was 16, after admiring the work of Chuck Jones and being inspired to pick up a pencil and cartoon. I like drawing toon animals a lot, but I do want to start branching out more and experimenting with other genres!

In February of 1997, I stumbled upon an IRC chatroom where I met someone by the name of Ryan. We became pals, then best pals, then.. well, I kinda really fell for him! In September of 2001, I moved in with him. Our wedding was on June 25th, 2004, and he is still my best pal.

At the time of writing, I am finishing up the last bit of classwork I need for my teaching credential. I love drawing, but being a teacher has always been my real dream, and I am thrilled to finally be able to do so! Ryan and I also now have a cute little place of our own...well, I shouldn't really say that. We share it with seven cats! Heh! The perils of volunteering at a cat rescue shelter!

Hopefully this will also be the year another dream comes true and we welcome our first child. If it does happen, I will still keep my promise not to use the baby as a plot point. :)

I guess that's it, really. Heh, "opa!"
